We can’t have another low turnout, “off-election year,” in New Jersey. Not anymore.
Not if we want to raise our families here, establish careers and build livelihoods in this beautiful state of ours.
The career politicians in Trenton making our state increasingly unaffordable would love for us to repeat the error of 2017, when few voters went to the polls simply because a President, Governor or U.S. Senator wasn’t on the ballot. That was the last time we had a chance to clean out the New Jersey Assembly of tax and spend progressives.
The entire Assembly is up for grabs again on Tuesday, and the career politicians are counting on us staying home again this Election Day.
Prove them wrong – get out to vote!
We must push back on the one-party rule that will only continue to destroy our state if we allow tax-crazed politicians to remain in the state Assembly. In the past two years since Governor Murphy got into office, his Assembly Democrats have helped him to increase government spending by $4 billion and pile $2.5 billion more in taxes and fees on the backs of homeowners and businesses.
By voting on Tuesday, we can say “no more” to Governor Murphy’s policy of handing over millions of our tax dollars to illegal immigrants for the purpose of hiring lawyers to fight our own federal government from detaining them.
By voting on Tuesday, we can say “no more” to Governor Murphy spending millions more in tax dollars to send illegal immigrants to college, while our own children and the children of those who legally immigrated to the U.S, struggle with crushing college debts.
By voting Tuesday, we can say “no more” to Governor Murphy’s plan to give driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants — a plan he calls a “no-brainer.” He’s right. No one with a brain should want to give a person who is not legally in the country a license!
For average families who pay all the taxes being misspent on this government excess, the Governor has only one message — the arrogant rebuke he delivered earlier this month during a speech in Glassboro:
“If you’re a one-issue voter and tax rate is your issue, either a family or a business, if that’s the only basis upon which you’re going to make a decision, we’re probably not your state,” Murphy proclaimed.
Well, this IS our state, Governor Murphy!
This is the place we all call home. This is the place where my husband and I want to grow old celebrating with family and friends the milestones of graduations, weddings and watching new generations of our families grow and build their own wonderful lives.
New Jersey is a state with millions of people who cannot afford Governor Murphy’s excess and arrogance, where we don’t believe government knows best, and we refuse to just accept it or move on.
While we have to wait until 2021 to send Governor Murphy on his way, we do have a reason to run to the polls on Tuesday. By exercising our basic American right, our citizen responsibility to vote, we can kick out the career politicians supporting his flawed polices in the Assembly.
